Allu Arjun Thanks Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Governments for Supporting Pushpa 2 Ticket Hikes : Sparks Discussion

The upcoming release of Pushpa 2: The Rule has generated excitement and buzz, especially surrounding its ticket prices, which are breaking records across India. Scheduled to release officially on December 5, 2024, the film will have special early screenings in Telangana on December 4. Accordingly, the prices have been increased. Allu Arjun expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for their support in approving ticket price hikes for his upcoming film Pushpa 2: The Rule. He specifically thanked Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for their decision, which allows increased pricing for premiere shows and regular screenings over the film's opening weeks.

Similarly, he acknowledged the Telangana government's thoughtful decision to foster the growth of Telugu cinema through their approval of pricing adjustment

  1. Highest Ticket Prices:

    • Delhi holds the record for the highest ticket prices, with some going up to ₹1,800.
    • In Mumbai and Bengaluru, tickets are priced as high as ₹1,600 and ₹1,000, respectively
  2. Special Screenings in Telangana:

    • A benefit show on December 4 features a flat ₹800 hike in ticket prices.
    • For the opening weekend (December 5–8), single-screen theatres can charge an additional ₹150, while multiplexes can increase prices by ₹200. These increments reduce over the following weeks, and regular prices will resume after December 23
  3. Global Release:

    • The movie is set to release in over 12,000 screens worldwide, including IMAX, and is available in multiple languages

The film's pricing strategy, coupled with increased shows like midnight and early morning screenings, reflects the high anticipation and demand for Allu Arjun's much-awaited sequel. However, it has also raised concerns about affordability for families, particularly during the holiday season
