Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, was injured during an attempted burglary at his Bandra residence in Mumbai early Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. when an intruder entered his home. Upon confronting the intruder, Khan was stabbed six times, with one wound dangerously close to his spine.
Khan was immediately transported to Lilavati Hospital at approximately 3:30 a.m. Dr. Niraj Uttaman, the hospital's Chief Operating Officer, reported that two of the six injuries are deeper, with one near the spine. A surgical team, including neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, is currently operating on him to assess and treat the injuries.
The Bandra police have launched an investigation into the incident. According to a police statement, an unknown person entered Khan's residence and argued with his maid. When Khan intervened, the intruder attacked him and fled the scene. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and conducting a parallel investigation to apprehend the assailant.
Khan's team has requested privacy during this time, stating, "We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation."
