SC allows Ranveer Allahbadia can now resume hosting ‘The Ranveer Show’ – But With One Condition
India’s Supreme Court has allowed Ranveer Allahbadia to resume his show, but under strict content guidelines. Learn about the court’s conditions, its impact, and what’s next for BeerBiceps.

The Supreme Court of India allowed on March 3 the YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as Beerbiceps, to resume airing "The Ranveer Show" after some time during which Allahbadia was prohibited from going live due to his being accused of obscenity by comments on India Got Talent.
Conditions of Court for Resumption
The Supreme Court allowed Allahbadia to resume his content subject to conforming to standards of content, called "morality and decency," which may be seen by an audience of any age group. Justice Surya Kant noted that while the courts protect freedom of speech, they expect the creators to hold standards: "Filthy language isn't talent."
Impact on Livelihoods
One of the major elements that weighed throughout the court's opinion was the acknowledgement of the livelihood of approximately 280 employees dependent on "The Ranveer Show." This persuaded the court to allow the show to go on under the parameters it laid down.
Ongoing Proceedings
Although Allahbadia may commence his podcast, the Supreme Court has stated that he must refrain from discussing any matter that could affect the ongoing case against him in order not to prejudice the legal proceedings.
This has some relevance to balancing free speech against the existing norms on society to enforce a protocol for digital content creators to uphold ethical standards.
