In a significant step towards water conservation and heritage preservation, Bisleri International has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to restore and revitalize water bodies at heritage sites across India.

The partnership aims to rejuvenate traditional water sources such as stepwells, ponds, and reservoirs located at historically significant sites, ensuring sustainable water management while enhancing the visitor experience. The initiative aligns with the broader goal of conserving India’s rich cultural heritage and addressing water scarcity in key locations.

Speaking on the collaboration, a Bisleri spokesperson stated, “Water conservation has always been at the core of our sustainability initiatives. Through this partnership with ASI, we are taking a meaningful step towards preserving historical water structures and promoting responsible water management.”

Officials from the ASI emphasized the importance of this project, highlighting that many heritage sites suffer from neglect, resulting in the depletion of their traditional water systems. “By restoring these water bodies, we not only honor historical engineering marvels but also create sustainable solutions for local communities and tourists,” an ASI representative remarked.

The project is expected to commence with pilot restorations at select heritage sites, with a phased expansion based on feasibility and impact assessments. Apart from water restoration, Bisleri also plans to promote awareness programs on the significance of water conservation among visitors and local stakeholders.

Environmentalists and heritage conservationists have welcomed the initiative, citing it as a crucial step towards integrating sustainability with historical preservation. As India faces growing water challenges, collaborations like this serve as models for corporate responsibility and environmental stewardship.

The Bisleri-ASI initiative is set to contribute not just to the conservation of India's heritage, but also to the larger mission of ensuring water security for future generations. As the project unfolds, it is expected to create a lasting impact on both historical and environmental fronts.
