Today on February 12, 2025, during the third and final One Day International (ODI) against England at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India's vice-captain Shubman Gill delivered an outstanding performance by scoring his seventh ODI century. Gill reached this milestone in 95 balls, showcasing exceptional skill and composure at the crease.

This century not only reinforced Gill's reputation as a premier batsman but also placed him in an elite group of Indian cricketers. He joined the ranks of Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and Virender Sehwag, each of whom also achieved seven ODI centuries before turning 26.

Furthermore, Gill surpassed a significant international record during this innings. He became the fastest player to accumulate 2,500 runs in ODI cricket, achieving this feat in just 50 innings. This accomplishment eclipsed the previous record held by South Africa's Hashim Amla, who reached the same milestone in 51 innings.

Gill's performance was instrumental in stabilizing the Indian innings, especially after the early dismissal of captain Rohit Sharma. His partnership with Virat Kohli, who contributed a valuable 52 runs, was crucial in setting a competitive total against England.

This innings further cements Shubman Gill's status as one of India's most promising young talents, highlighting his ability to perform under pressure and his significant contribution to the team's success.
