In the early hours of February 4, 2025, a significant rail accident occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur district. At approximately 4:30 AM, a moving freight train collided with the rear of a stationary freight train between Shujaatpur and Rasulabad railway stations, under the jurisdiction of Khaga police. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, and the crew members of both trains were unharmed.

Preliminary investigations by railway authorities suggest that the accident was likely caused by the loco-pilot of the moving train overshooting a red signal. This oversight led to the collision and subsequent derailment of several wagons. Relief and rescue operations were promptly initiated and are currently underway to clear the affected tracks and restore normal rail services.

The incident has caused disruptions in rail traffic along the route, with several trains being delayed or rerouted. Passengers are advised to check the latest train schedules and plan their journeys accordingly. The railway authorities have assured that efforts are being made to restore normalcy at the earliest. An in-depth inquiry has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the accident and to implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
