Tahira Kashyap Diagnosed with Breast Cancer Again After 7 Years – Shares Powerful Message
Filmmaker Tahira Kashyap announces breast cancer relapse after 7 years in remission. On World Health Day 2025, she urges regular screenings and shares a message of resilience.

This time, she announced her breast cancer had come back after seven years of remission. The actress made the announcement on their Instagram channel along with World Health Day on April 7, 2025, saying how important it is to get health check-ups regularly ''Cause it's the seven-year itch or the power of regular screening's a point of view. I'd like to go with the latter and suggest the same for everybody who needs to get regular mammograms. Round 2 for me... I still got this."
In 2018, she was diagnosed for the first time with breast cancer and had a mastectomy. Her husband, actor Ayushmann Khurrana, supported her by reposting her post, in which he called her "My Hero."
Medical professionals confirm breast cancer recurrences may happen within months or years of treatment; hence, constant vigilance is warranted. "Recurrent breast cancer might occur either in the region where it started or spread to nearby lymph nodes or other body parts," further added Dr. (Lt Col) R. Ranga Rao, Chairman of Paras Cancer Centre.
Tahira's frankness concerning her diagnosis has opened up discussions about regular health assessments and early detection. Furthermore, her spirit continues to encourage many as she courageously walks through this renewed battle.
