On December 26, 2024, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy convened a meeting with prominent figures from the Telugu film industry (Tollywood) at the Telangana State Police Command and Control Centre in Hyderabad. This gathering aimed to address concerns following the recent tragic incident at the premiere of "Pushpa 2," where a stampede resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to her child.
The delegation, led by Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, included notable actors such as Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Kalyan Ram, and Nithin. Directors Koratala Siva, Anil Ravipudi, and K. Raghavendra Rao, along with producers Suresh Babu and Allu Aravind, were also in attendance.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Reddy emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order, stating, "Celebrities must ensure their fans are disciplined. The government will not compromise on law and order." He urged the film industry to act responsibly and manage their fan interactions to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
In response, the Tollywood representatives expressed their commitment to collaborating with the government to enhance safety measures during film events. They also discussed the potential for Hyderabad to become an international film hub, attracting filmmakers from various industries, including Bollywood and Hollywood.
